Can I take the test again if I didn't do well?

Yes. You can take the test once every 21 days, up to five times within any continuous rolling 12-month period (365 days). This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously. You may take the paper-delivered test as often as it is offered.

If I take the test more than once, will the schools know that I have done so?

GRE provides the ScoreSelect option, which allows you to decide whether or not to let your target schools know about your scores.

On test day:

  • Most Recent option — Send your scores from your current test administration.
  • All option — Send your scores from all General Test administrations in the last five years.
  • None option — Do not send your scores at this time

After test day:

  • Most Recent option — Send your scores from your most recent test administration.
  • All option — Send your scores from all test administrations in the last five years.
  • Any option — Send your scores from one OR as many test administrations as you like from the last five years.

The schools you designate will only see the scores that you selected to send them. There will be no special indication if you have taken additional GRE tests.

How can I prepare for the test?

Please refer to our GRE Prep Course page for more information.

How long does it take to prepare for the GRE?

The duration of preparation required depends on multiple factors:

  • Your target level of performance
  • Your initial level of performance
  • Number of hours you can devote to preparation every week
  • Speed at which you internalize the concepts and approach

Most working professionals spend 3-5 months preparing for the GRE, though we have seen people take significantly less and significantly more as well.

When are the classes conducted?

Individual classes are scheduled as per the student’s convenience, subject to availability.

The group classes schedule is available here.

What is the course fee?

There are 3 different course settings – Individual, Group and Hybrid. Consult our GRE course page for more information.

I am considering individual/hybrid course. How many individual hours should I buy?

It can be difficult to assess upfront how many hours you may need. That’s why we offer a refund guarantee on unused individual hours. You may talk to our team if there any queries regarding the refund.

Buy the maximum number of hours your budget permits, because the more hours you buy upfront, the higher the discount you get. If at the end, you find you haven’t used up all the hours you bought, that’s not a problem.

You can also downgrade to a smaller package, and get a refund for the difference. In other words, you can downsize to the basic Hybrid any time (whereas upsizing later is more expensive)
